New expanded Balkan Press
on inter-state relations, regional cooperation and minorities
In 1995 AIM launched Balkan Press, a weekly press review produced by its Kosovo, Tirana, Skopje and Belgrade editorial boards. It concentrated on developments in the regions in which there is an important Albanian speaking population. The aim was to create bridges between communities by improving mutual awareness of what the media of each linguistic group was writing.
Since March 2001 Balkan Press covers the entire region, from Slovenia down to Albania and Bulgaria, and it now has a new focus. Each AIM editorial board prepares a brief weekly review of the local press, examining the evolution in relations between countries in the region, different regional cooperation structures and relations with minorities.
The review is published in Serb/Croat/Bosnian, Albanian and English.
